Obfuscation techniques make it extremely difficult for a threat actor to understand an application’s code enough to reverse engineer it. But, with enough time and resources, threat actors could build a knowledge base enabling them to slowly, but surely make progress. Polymorphism stops threat actors dead in their tracks. With each new build of your app, your obfuscation changes. This makes any previous knowledge gained by a threat actor useless, because now your code has an entirely new set of protections located in different parts of the code. Basically, you’re resetting the clock on the bad guys.
