using calcium metal and potassium chloride i try to make potassium metal like this: 2KCl + Ca = 2K + CaCl2 and a lot of heat.
it did work but not as well as i hoped. i have plans to try this again in the near future but under vacuum. this will lower the temperature required for an easier distillation to proceed.
