Initially it was difficult to interface the microprocessors with the input/ output peripherals. So Programmable Peripheral Interface(PPI) chip was developed and manufactured by Intel in 1970 and it was named as 8255 PPI chip.
In this video various features, controlling signals and architecture of 8255 elaborated. After watching this video, students will become familiar with the concept of PPI, features of 8255, about its control signals and architecture. If students watch and listen it carefully then there will be no need of cramming the architecture of 8255. They will be able to draw it by themselves.
