Parents Helping Parents is proud to have the largest Assistive Technology center in the San Francisco Bay Area. PHP Assistive Technology specialists provide parents, professionals, adults, and children with the opportunity to understand different devices and how they can benefit individuals with a disability. At Parents Helping Parents, we sometimes refer to our assistive technology center as iTech. Assistive Technology is a catch-all phrase for products, equipment, and systems that enhance learning, working, and daily living for persons with disabilities. Your smartphone is assistive technology! Do you talk to your lights? Assistive technology! Voice text? Yep! Use a wheelchair to get around? That, too! Assistive Technology is any device that can help increase, maintain, or improve a person’s functional capabilities.
