On a tumbling chaos of rolling waves Looking to catch the next ride But the never-ending cycle gives no suspension And the waves resume crashing upon our heads A friend tells me, things will soon change That after ‘this vote’, the tide re-arranges We will see everything turned about And we’re promised stability and relief The waves never cease to crest and crash And the vote comes & goes minus revolution As the benchmark sinks lower and lower And we stand watching in disbelief I remember reading something in the bible [Chorus] Put Not your Trust in Princes .. It seems we are set on this web of life Tangled, slipping - sticking - web surfing Like a soul that cries out to Our Lord My heart beats wildly; I cannot keep silent Where can our hearts find solace? Oh where can we steady our feet? If we stand for nothing; we’ll fall for everything We should seek then the narrowed gate the minority’s Not what we want to be But with faith we must take a stand — How do you think Noah felt?
