Final Fantasy allowed you to hop into a canoe anytime you hit the water, so I recreated that mechanic through some eventing. The system itself is not necessarily dependent on Yanfly's plugin, but it can help. The eventing is rather simple: a series of conditional branches check to see if first of all if the party owns a canoe, then checks where the player is facing and if the player meant to walk into that direction.
