Quiet Eyes
“Quiet Eyes” is the fifth song in my neurodivergent series. Listen to the full series here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLl8bn3-dGj6p6HDtllRhSVDKD6FQvLE5i&si=AUvaOw149NZWWfRV I wrote these songs on behalf of people I know and love, to help give greater insight into mental health and neurodivergence, while also encouraging people to take care of their mental wellbeing. The main character in “Quiet Eyes” draws inspiration from brilliant minds such as Nikola Tesla, Leonardo da Vinci, and Temple Grandin — people who saw the world differently and changed it because of that difference. My hope is that this series shines a light on the beauty of neurodivergence and helps neurotypical thinkers gain a deeper understanding of different minds. Imagine what could happen if people truly understood these differences and nurtured the incredible strengths that often come with them. I created this series in honor of the many people I know and love — those still here, those no longer with us, and the countless diagnosed and undiagnosed individuals who recognize themselves in these experiences. My message is simple: The world would be a much duller place without people like you. All lyrics, vocal arrangements, and song structures are my original work. I used AI-assisted vocals and prompts for AI-generated music production. Rights owned by me as a Pro-Suno subscriber. © 2026 Elaine Wulff. All rights reserved. Lyrics: Verse 1] I learned my feelings have a voice Even when they shake inside I can say “I need some space” “I need calm tonight” Not every storm is loud enough For the world to recognize Some of us are fighting waves Behind quiet eyes [Pre-Chorus] And I’m learning slowly What helps me heal Little routines Little things that feel real [Chorus] You can’t see it with your eyes But it’s real, it’s real Invisible doesn’t mean imagined We still feel, still feel So I move my body Drink water, breathe deep Talk it through with someone safe Get the rest I need And maybe therapy Maybe medicine too There’s no shame in finding What helps carry you You can’t see it with your eyes But it’s real [Verse 2] Some days I’m overwhelmed by sound Some days words come out too fast Some days I disappear inside Hoping the moment passes But I’m learning how to say “What you said hurt me” Without turning pain to fire Without losing me [Pre-Chorus] And the people who love us Can learn this too Patience is powerful Kindness breaks through [Chorus] You can’t see it with your eyes But it’s real, it’s real Invisible doesn’t mean imagined We still feel, still feel So I take long walks Eat food that helps Ask for support Instead of blaming myself And maybe therapy Maybe medicine too There’s no shame in finding What helps carry you You can’t see it with your eyes But it’s real [Bridge] Tesla walked in numbers To settle down the light Da Vinci chased a thousand thoughts Across the endless night Temple learned the language Of a nervous system’s waves And showed the world that different minds Still deserve gentle days We are not broken We are learning We are growing in the light Different rhythms Different wiring Still deserving of a life [Final Chorus] You can’t see it with your eyes But it’s real, it’s real Invisible doesn’t mean imagined We still heal, still heal So we speak gently And set clear lines Learn healthy ways To care for our minds And maybe therapy Maybe medicine too There’s no shame in finding What helps carry you You can’t see it with your eyes But it’s real It’s real
