Randolph Township is one of the eighteen townships of Portage County, Ohio. Randolph's history dates back to the late 1700's with the Portage County location being surveyed in 1797. The first settlers of Randolph arrived in 1802. Randolph has a historical marker for the underground railroad by the Old Town Hall. The building originally a Congregational Church is a key site dated back to 1836. The building was used as a church when it served as an underground railroad stop, in helping fugitive slaves. In 1850 citizens of Randolph openly pledged to provide protection for escaped slaves at that time. Randolph is a small community known for its rural charm and community events, such as the Randolph Fair along with hosting the Balloon A- Fair. When I say big event, I mean that the parking lot was packet. But it was a lot of fun.
