The Robotic Autonomous Systems Leader Tactics Course (RASLT) is a U.S. Army training program designed to prepare officers and senior noncommissioned officers to lead combat units that integrate robotic and autonomous ground and aerial systems into maneuver operations. Purpose and Context Launched at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) at Fort Benning, Georgia, RASLT is part of the Army’s Transforming in Contact (TiC) initiative. It addresses the growing role of unmanned systems in future conflicts, ensuring leaders can plan and execute operations that combine human forces with autonomous assets. Target Audience: Officers: First lieutenant to major, ideally after completing the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course. Enlisted: Sergeant first class and above, preferably after completing the Scout Leader Course or Battle Staff NCO Course. Participants are expected to return to operational units where robotic/autonomous formations are integrated at the company, battalion, or brigade level. RASLT is intended as a touchpoint in a leader’s professional military education, building foundational expertise so they can later develop deeper proficiency in operating and planning with these technologies. It aligns with broader Army efforts to expand unmanned platforms across domains, including ground, air, and Arctic environments.
