Realphones 2 - Performance Hall Audio Example
🎧 Use headphones for this demonstration so you can clearly hear the acoustics and the differences between listening positions. In this video, you will hear how the perception of music changes in a chamber hall with controlled acoustics. This is a demonstration of Performance Hall from the Acoustic Collection — an addon for Realphones, a plugin designed to help evaluate a mix in realistic acoustic environments while working in headphones. Many engineers and musicians work in headphones — at home, on the road, or even in the studio. And almost everyone has experienced the same issue: a mix sounds great in headphones, but once checked in real-world playback environments (a studio, club, car, or concert hall), it feels different. Balance shifts, stereo placement changes, reverberation behaves differently, and the low-end response can be especially misleading. Realphones helps address this problem. It applies headphone-specific frequency response correction (with support for more than 200 headphone models) and allows you to audition your mix in the acoustics of professional studios and real performance spaces. This makes it possible to understand how your music will translate not only in controlled monitoring conditions, but also in practical listening environments. This example demonstrates the acoustics of the Performance Hall, a multifunctional space with excellent controlled acoustics that seats up to 500 people. A hall where sound engineering becomes a pleasure. The ideal space for theatrical productions and chamber concerts. The video includes three listening positions: • Front — wide, spatial sound with powerful punch and pronounced details; • Center — balanced sound with optimal ratio of direct and reflected sound; • Rear — sound with increased reverberation and enhanced low-frequency foundation delivers a clear center image. The environment is ideal for: • Vocals, musicals, and theatrical shows; • Checking the readability of speech and dialogues; • Fine-tuning stereo and instrument placement. This demonstration may be useful for: • mixing and mastering engineers; • musicians and producers preparing live playback or rehearsal material; • film, orchestral, and theater sound designers; • anyone checking mix translation before release or live performance.
