Refreshing Slush Punch
Cherry Slush Punch is the kind of easy party punch recipe that shows up at holidays, family gatherings, church potlucks, showers, and cookouts. This version is made with cherry Jell-O is one my mom taught me how to make when I was 16 yrs old! In this video, I’m making the deli-container version, which makes it easier to freeze, thaw, and use only what you need. This recipe is also part of my upcoming cookbook project. Ingredients: • 1 large package cherry Jell-O, usually 6 oz • 2 cups water • 1 1/2 to 2 cups sugar • 1 can pineapple juice, 46 oz • 6 1/2 to 8 cups cold water • 1-2 chilled 2-liter Sprite or 7-Up, added when serving Quick method: Boil 2 cups water, dissolve the Jell-O, stir in the sugar, turn off the heat, add shaken pineapple juice, then add the remaining cold water. Freeze the punch base for 24 hours, thaw about 1 hour before serving, then add Sprite or 7-Up and chip into slushy pieces.
