Reverse Kick - Beatbox Tutorial

Become a fan! https://www.facebook.com/FTBBX/ Transcript: The reverse kick is a very simple sound that emulates the sound of scratching a classic kick; in fact, this is probably one of the easiest scratches to learn. By itself it doesn’t sound particularly impressive - { wB } { wB } - but if you put it between kicks - { B wB B wB B wB B wB } - the effect is much cooler. To make the sound, you basically pull a short burst of air into your mouth while your lips are together. Now while you are able to do this using the middle of your mouth, and a lot of beatboxers do, I find it a lot simpler to use the side of my mouth, specifically the left side. Now if you watch how I do the kick drum using the left side of my mouth - { B B B } - you’ll notice my lips are apart at the end to let out the air. And that’s actually the position you need to pull the air back in - { B wB B wB B wB } So all you need to do is a kick drum and this will give you the position you need for your lips. Once you’ve got the position, suck some air back into your mouth; you should get a sound that sounds kind of like a buzz. { sound that is kind of like a buzz }That’s pretty much it right there! If you put it between some kicks it’ll sound a lot clearer. { B wB B wB B wB B wB B wB } You’re also able to just use your tongue instead of your lungs to do this sound - { B wB B wB B wB } so you’ll be able to hum over it, for example. { Bmm B wB Pff - Bmm / B wB B - Pff - t - / Bmm B wB Pff - Bmm / B wB B - Pff - - - } Now you can use the sound for some cool beats. {B - t - Pf - t - / B wB B - Pf - tss } { B - B wB Pf - B - / B wB B - Pf - - - / B - B wB Pf - B - / B wB B wB Pf - - - } Do you have any questions?
