The lyrics for this song come from a poem I wrote a while ago. The poem is about the world trying to force us into a set mold, the pressure to be what others think we should be, and the internal struggle to be true to ourselves. Many of us spend our entire life living a lie...something we are not but think we "should" be. Thus, "Don’t lose your way tryin’ to belong. Don’t trade your voice just to get along". Those two lines really fit a multitude of scenarios almost everyone can relate to in one way or another.
