Salm 28 To you, Yahweh, I call. My rock, do not be deaf to me, or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Hear the voice of my pleading when I cry to you for help, when I lift my hands toward your most holy sanctuary. Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts. Give them what they deserve for what they have done, and for the evil of their deeds. Give them back what their hands have done; pay them what they are due. Because they do not regard the works of Yahweh or the work of his hands, he will tear them down and not rebuild them. Blessed be Yahweh, because he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy. Yahweh is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I will thank him. Yahweh is the strength of his people; he is a stronghold of salvation for his anointed. Save your people and bless your inheritance. Be their shepherd and carry them forever. “You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you. Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever”.
