— Verse 1. — God is our ultimate refuge and our source of strength, a constant, proven help in times of trouble. —Verse 2. — Therefore, we will not be consumed by fear, even if the earth itself splits open and the mountains collapse into the depths of the sea. — Verse 3. — Let the ocean waters roar and foam; let the massive peaks tremble and shake at the sheer force of its swelling. — Verse 4. — There is a river whose streams bring pure joy to the city of God, the sacred place where the Most High makes His home. — Verse 5. — God lives within that city, and it will never be shaken or destroyed. Leaving only silence. — But from ABOVE the inspiration came. — Verse 6. — The nations raged and kingdoms toppled at His presence; He spoke with a voice of thunder, and the very foundations of the earth melted away like wax before His holy fire. — Verse 7. The Lord of Heaven's Armies is standing right here with us. The God of ÍS, RÁ, EL is our fortress, our high tower, and our safe retreat. — Verse 8. — Come and witness the breathtaking wonders of the Lord, see how He brings total devastation upon the forces of darkness across the earth. — Verse 9. — He causes wars to cease to the very ends of the earth; He breaks the warrior's bow, shatters the deadly spear, and burns the heavy war chariots with unquenchable fire. — Verse 10. — "Be still!", and know that I am God Above. I will be exalted and honored among the nations; I will be supreme over all the earth. God Above and is hosts are with us, He is our fortress and our high retreat.
