SARS-COV 2 PCR
This video is brought to you by the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Reutlingen in Germany. The video was created by sixth semester students in the BioMed Laboratory of the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences program. The students Emily Speidel, Stefan Strommer, Karen Manger, Salomé Weiß and Laura Hellriegel participated in this video and were supervised by Prof. Dr. Kemkemer and Dipl. Ing. FH Athanasopulu. It contains the following content: SARS-COV 2 is a virus that caused a pandemic in March 2020. If one is infectious, a PCR test is available to prove the presence of the virus in the system. The procedure begins with a nasopharyngeal swab and collection of nasal secretions. The PCR steps follow, and the test result can be seen hours after the biopsy. This video also explains what you should do if you get a positive test result and the consequences if you don't follow the required restrictions.
