All Rights Reserved The last time I uploaded this song, I used a half-diminished chord at the 5th bar of every stanza, as I originally composed it. This time, I replaced it with the more pop-palatable ii7 chord. In hindsight, the darker, more poignant, half-diminished harmony better suits the poetry of the lyrics. Saying Goodbye, No matter how hard I try, the pain I swear I'll defy Is somehow there. Now that you're gone, How could it be that you're gone? I guess I waited too long to say I care. Wanting just another chance to hold you. There's so much I wish I'd told you-- I hope you know. Running and running, it feels so busy, getting through each day, But parents and children and friends and lovers-- No one's truly here to stay.
