Self Determination Program in California
The Self-Determination Program allows California participants the opportunity to have more control in developing their service plans and selecting service providers to better meet their needs. The Self-Determination Program waiver was approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on June 7, 2018. The initial 2,500 participants were selected on October 1, 2018, and the second selection of participants was selected on November 22, 2019. As of June 7, 2021, the program is available to all eligible consumers. If you are interested in SDP enrollment, visit the Program Enrollment page.
