Introduction to Google Tag Manager's new Server-side Tagging feature. This video will walk you through a deployment of the Server container, together with upgrading to a product-ready deployment, your own custom domain, and setting up a simple Universal Analytics client. Server-side tagging lets you create your own server-side proxy for analytics, advertising, and marketing data collection. It gives you full ownership of the data being collected from the browsers and apps, and you can choose exactly what to send to the third-party platforms. The other main benefit of server-side tagging is that you'll be able to reduce the amount of third-party scripts loaded in the user's device or browser. You can build your own event stream without any third-party JavaScript, and then handle this stream within the confines (and protections) of the server-side environment instead. The video is a quick overview of how to set up a Server container. I recommend you take a look at the REFERENCES section below for more helpful reading about the topic.
