The Shaw Mountain (Lucky Peak)hike is one of the “Boise Grand Slam” hikes in the hills East of Boise, Idaho. It can be hiked either from the south side via the Fish and Game Archery Range lot, or from the Adelmann Mine Trailhead on the east side which is where this video started. This trailhead is at the Boise River WMA center on Highway 21. It is a moderately strenuous hike, about 9 miles to the summit of Shaw Mountain and back, with an elevation gain of 2525’. It does pass through some of the burnt area from the October 2024 wildfire.
