🐴 SLICE UPDATE — 4/5

We swung by the barn this morning to visit Miss Slice and caught her out for a leisurely stroll in the walking ring — and she did NOT disappoint. 😍 This filly was on high alert, taking in every bit of that beautiful morning sunshine and fresh California air. And the moment we walked up? She spotted us immediately. That's our girl — sharp as a tack and full of presence. Her motion looked smooth and fluid throughout, and she just had that air about her — calm, confident, and ready for what's next. Trainer Michael W. McCarthy and the Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners team continue to bring her along beautifully. Speaking of what's next — Santa Anita just dropped Condition Book 6, and we've got our eye on a few spots that suit her profile perfectly. The plan remains to stretch her out in distance, and the Book has some exciting options opening up — including a Maiden Special Weight at ONE MILE on April 30 and a 6½-furlong MSW for fillies on May 2, both at $65,000 purses. With her closing speed on debut, more ground is exactly what we're looking for. Slice (Into Mischief x Lemoona, by Lemon Drop Kid) showed us everything on debut — she just needs a little more real estate to really unleash that engine. Stay tuned. 🏇
