Snake Neglect: One Year Later

Hi, welcome to Behavior Education at Spirit Keeper Animal Sanctuary. Today is April 16th, 2026, and it marks the one-year anniversary of the criminal neglect and hoarding case that Spirit Keeper Animal Sanctuary assisted with. As many of you know, we took in 67 snakes and one parrot as part of that case. If you’re not familiar with this situation or haven’t been following it over the past year, you can go to SpiritKeeperAnimalSanctuary.org and click the link at the top of our homepage that says “Learn More About Adopting or Sponsoring Snakes.” That will take you to a page that is entirely about this hoarding case, including the history of what happened, what’s been going on over the past year, and ways to donate or support the animals. On this one-year anniversary of the intake of those animals, we want to share a series of updates with you. This video is the first in that series. In this update, we’re featuring Moraine and Jerrick, and we’ll also be including a segment of me talking about what happened the night of intake. I’ll take you outside and discuss what we did, what that process looked like, and a little bit of what that experience was like.
