Testing a Pivo Device while Riding
Hi Everyone, I filmed this on Monday, 11 May 2026, with my horse Ranger. We tested out a Pivo Pod, a device that works along with a cellphone and the Pivo App to follow a horse as it moves. The device can rotate 360 degrees while recording. Ranger is an unregistered Arabian gelding retired from competitive trail and endurance riding. We think he is about 19-20 years old and I ride him around our ranch, very rarely do I work with him in the arena. He is being ridden in a Wintec Dressage saddle and a Lumiere bitless bridle. Last year he had to have oral surgery for Equine Odontoclastic Tooth Resorption and Hypercementosis (EOTRH), a painful, progressive dental disease where specialized cells destroy tooth roots (resorption) while the body attempts to stabilize them by creating excessive, irregular cementum. It primarily affects incisors and canines, causing gingivitis, gum recession, and severe oral pain. Ranger had all his upper incisors surgically removed last year. We are keeping an eye on his lower incisors and he still has all of his molars which are the teeth horses use to grind and chew. He can still eat grass, hay, and his senior feed just fine. Thanks for watching. What do you think about the Pivo Pod?
