Up next, we welcome the illustrious Sofia Gonzalez. Born in Ecuador and based in Sydney, her roots lie in the heydays of neurofunk and future-thinking drum and bass. After a hiatus from dance music, playing in small bands and busking throughout South America & Spain, she discovered the endless possibilities of an open-palette, multi-genre mixing style and its ability to create a story fit for the mood. From dynamic techno journeys that take you through nebulous soundscapes and tribalistic chimera, to the brooding basslines and rhythm diversity offered in her bass-centric sets, Sofia's performances are emotionally-charged, heady and energetic. For this episode of ASPECT, we get to see the more downtempo and experimental side of Sofia’s collection; a perfect mood for a rainy day. I froth these tunes so much, I've always been fascinated by the voyage of science fiction and futuristic landscapes.
