Stream: https://music.softable.xyz/playing_with_kid Story: 실없는 장난을 하며 놀았던 어린 시절. 순수한 욕심만이 나를 이끌던 그 어린 나는, 지금도 언제나 내 곁에 있다. 어른이 되어가며 사라지는 듯 보여도, 어린 나는 항상 나에게 말을 걸어오곤 한다. “오늘은 뭐 하고 놀 거야?”라고 속삭이면서. 기특하기도 하고 성가시기도 한 어린 나. 가끔은 그 녀석이 밉기도 하다. ‘너만 없으면 내가 더 나은 어른이 될 수 있을 텐데’라고 생각하며, 어린 나를 내쳤다. 그러자 그 녀석은 있는 힘껏 이해할 수 없다는 표정을 지으며 구석 어딘가로 숨어들었다. 곁에 어린 내가 없으니, 마음속엔 공허가 피어났다. 놀이가 즐겁지 않아졌다. 하고자 하는 일도 없어졌다. 생각해 보면, 내가 먼저 어린 나에게 놀자고 한 적은 없는 것 같다. 내가 어린 나를 통제하고 있었다고 생각했는데, 반대로 어린 내가 나를 이끌어주고 있었다. “맛있는 마카롱을 사줄게, 이제 나와서 같이 놀자.” 라고 허공에 대고 소리치자, 어린 나는 언제 서운했냐는 듯 뛰쳐나와 미소를 보인다. 우리는 힘을 합쳐 모래성을 쌓으며 놀기 시작한다. 어린 나는 모래를 쌓고, 나는 모래가 단단해지도록 옆에서 물을 부어준다. 지금의 나를 만들어준 아이. 누구보다 지금의 나를 잘 이해할 수 있는 아이. 이미 어른이 되어버린 나를, 또다시 어린이로 만들어주는 고마운 아이. “어린 나야, 고마워. 더 이상 너에게 미안하다고 하지 않을게. 네가 꿈꿔왔던 어른이 나일 수 있게, 내가 옆에서 도와줄게.” Childhood, which was filled with silly pranks and playful moments. The little me, driven by pure desires, is still always by my side. It seems to disappear as I grow into an adult, but the child within me always speaks up. Whispering, "What are we playing today?" The little me, both endearing and annoying. Sometimes, I even hate that kid. I thought, "If only you weren't here, I could be a better adult," and pushed the little me away. Then, with a look of complete bewilderment, that kid hid in some corner. With the child gone, a void filled my heart. Playing wasn't fun anymore. There was nothing I wanted to do. Looking back, I never asked the child to play first. I thought I controlled the little me, but it was the child guiding me. "Let me buy you some delicious macarons, come out and play with me," I shouted into the empty space. The child, as if never upset before, ran out smiling. Together, we began building sandcastles. The child piled up the sand, and I poured water to make the sand firm. That child who made me who I am today. The one who understands me better than anyone else. The child who turns me, an already grown adult, back into a kid. "Thank you, little me. I won't apologize to you anymore.
