Revolved Boss/Base (Revolve) This command adds material by rotating a 2D sketch (profile) around a centerline (axis). Function: Used to create solid cylindrical, spherical, or conical shapes. It is the primary tool for anything turned on a lathe. Example: Designing a solid wheel, a pulley, a shaft, or a bottle. 2. Revolved Cut This command removes material by rotating a 2D sketch around a centerline (axis). It works exactly like the Revolved Boss, but instead of creating a new solid, it cuts into an existing one. Function: Creates circular grooves, internal shaping, or "turned" cuts. Example: Cutting a groove for an O-ring on the outside of a cylindrical shaft, or hollowing out the inside of a custom pipe fitting. 3. Circular Pattern This command creates multiple identical copies of features, faces, or entire solid bodies arranged in a circle around a central axis. Function: Duplicates complex geometry evenly and radially across a part without needing to draw each instance manually. You just specify the number of copies and the total angle (e.g., 360 degrees). Example: Creating a 6-bolt hole pattern on a wheel flange, or generating all the cutting teeth on a circular saw blade after drawing just one.
