IDC is now integrated directly into Genomics Data Commons (GDC) Portal https://portal.gdc.cancer.gov/.
GDC Software Release - April 2026
The GDC released an Imaging Data Commons (IDC) Image Viewer Tool (https://imaging.datacommons.cancer.gov/) and other enhancements in the GDC 2.0 Data Portal Vinci Release. The IDC enables access, visualization, and analysis in multi-modal imaging data science. The GDC, in collaboration with the IDC, released an IDC Image Viewer Tool in the GDC Analysis Center. Key features include:
- Select to view histopathology or radiology images for cases in a cohort that are also available in the IDC
- Visualize pathology and slide microscopy images and annotations using the IDC Slim Viewer: https://github.com/ImagingDataCommons/slim
- Use the IDC Open Health Imaging Foundation (OHIF) Viewer (https://github.com/OHIF/Viewers) to view radiology images and annotations
