Stack Rock Hike
The Stack Rock Trail is a popular hike near the top of Boise’s Bogus Basin Road. The “official” trailhead has parking and vault toilets, and it is located before you come to the ski area. It is a moderate hike, starting at about 5865’ elevation. The beginning of the hike is mostly downhill, climbs to the base of Stack Rock, then down and up again to the Bogus Basin Road where you finish with a 1 mile climb to the parking lot. There is a turnout for parking on the road below where the trail crosses, if you’d like to skip the “first and last mile”. AllTrails has a good listing and map under the name Freddy’s Stack Rock Trail. When this video was made my total mileage was 12.12 with 1344’ of elevation gain. It was a beautiful early Fall day, not too hot, sun, clouds, and even a light shower. Thanks for watching!
