We will show you step by step how we plan and install a landscape. It starts with a design so the client sees a specific plan and can make suggestions of their own, and more importantly, get a picture of what the job looks like. Then we mark out the new beds with marking paint and carefully measure. A very important step is adding organic compost to the beds and cultivating it into the soil. This allows a new plant to establish its root system easier while improving drainage. Then it's time to plant the shrubs and trees. Make sure to scratch the root balls and plant the crown of the root one inch above ground level. We then use a bed edger to dig out a small trench on the exterior of the beds to withhold the mulch during rain storms. The next step is mulching the beds. We typically lay down three inches of shredded pine bark mulch, which will need to be topped off once a year. We like to add lighting to our projects when we can, highlighting architectural accents on the house and trees and specimen plants -- even boulders! Drainage is crucial to a project, so we install corrugated pipe to downspouts so the water won't flood plants, drown them and wash out mulch. After we're done we do a final walkthrough, inspecting the job and correcting anything that is amiss. We then meet with our client, get their feedback and settle up on the invoice!
