SUGAR-FREE

Greetings fellow Human Beings and hopefully everyone is still safe and well. This is a light-hearted funky little retro Rock & Roll song about being free! No more work, bills, dues, rent, hassles, greed, corporations, and tyranical bosses! Finally being Sugar-Free!👍 It's one of my story songs written in 2012, I was hating my job at the time and wanted to quit really badly but I stuck it out until I retired in 2019 and have not thought about that place (the HellHole as I call it!) and the tyrants that work you to death there. I do however think of the poor souls that are still shackled there and I feel really sorry for them!! But hopefully they'll all make it out of that meat grinder in one piece! (I'm exaggerating a little but you know how it its! 😂) I'm singing this one because when I was making the video Charlie's vocal track and the harmony tracks were corrupted and distorted. So last month while we were still on hiatus I re-recorded another vocal and harmony track on the Instrumental backing track and it sounds much better now, well I'm singing so it ain't THAT much better!😂 Charlie is still playing a really cool Harmonica part throughout the song! It's a very fun and upbeat song! Very hopeful in that everything is getting better! Just hang in there and you'll see! I kind of was thinking of that song by The Beatles "Getting Better" and wanted to write something upbeat like that. I worked very hard on the video and It's a bit of a comic relief video after those last few that were about gloom and doom! People were starting to call me Gloomy Gus and Debbie Downer!😂 I know we are in Dark Days now but I wanted to let a little sun shine in! I also wrote this when my wife was finally diagnosed as cancer-free for 5 years!! We were so happy but unfortunately the cancer did return 5 years after that and we had to go through the whole thing all over again! You know the radiation, the chemo, the surgery, the fear, but I'm happy to say that she is still cancer-free today, thank God! Look at "Suger-Free" as being cancer free, tax fee, hassle free, government free, corporate free, stress free, war free, prejudice free, polically free, hate free, ignorant free, on and on and on! I could go on forever on all the horrors we could be free from but that's a time for another song!😂 I hope everybody enjoys this little departure from your troubles for a while and maybe get you to twinkle a toe or two!
