In the Tegal area, Sumberharjo was the only mill left with field workings. Pangka and Sragi lost their field lines prior to 2000. However at Sumberharjo, the loaded cane trains always returned from the fields after dark meaning that trains of empty were all that was on offer. The mill had an attractive collection of locos and some could always be found on shed or in the yard and, with a bit of luck, in the fields. My thanks to Indonesian enthusiast TC who jointly led this visit and was responsible for arranging a little bit more action at this sleepy mill. Steam was not in regular use from 2015 and I believe that the mill is now closed.
