Supine Hamstring Isometric is a foundational stability exercise that targets the hamstring group while reinforcing lower-limb stability and pelvic control. Performed lying on your back with the knee bent and heel pressed into the floor or a fixed surface, this exercise challenges the hamstrings to generate a sustained isometric contraction without joint movement. This promotes early-phase strength, enhances neuromuscular activation, and improves tolerance to load while minimizing strain on healing tissues. It also supports proper lumbopelvic alignment, reduces compensatory hip or trunk substitution, and builds a stable foundation for more dynamic posterior-chain strengthening.
