Teach_First_Science_Teacher

I’m Shivshakti Kumar, and I’m applying for the Teach First Secondary Science programme because I’m genuinely passionate about making a difference in the classroom. I believe Science is a powerful subject that helps students understand the world around them, and I want to make it engaging, relatable, and accessible for every pupil. In my current role as a SEN Teaching Assistant, I support students with different learning needs, helping them build confidence and overcome challenges. This experience has shown me how important patience, encouragement, and high expectations are in helping young people succeed. I bring a strong STEM background from my professional experience, along with skills in problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. I also enjoy bringing learning to life outside the classroom through activities like cricket and hands-on STEM projects such as robotics and model-building. I’m really motivated by the opportunity to work in a Teach First partner school, build positive relationships with pupils, and create a supportive environment where they feel confident, valued, and inspired to learn.
