Many of the community language teachers and learners in Australia are teaching and learning languages in the intersecting spaces of multiculturalism and multilingualism. This session will focus on hands-on teaching strategies for using intercultural communication to support positive community language learning.
Dr Jasna Novak Milic is the Director of Croatian Studies at Macquarie University with more than 20 years of international experience in teaching and research areas of applied linguistics, intercultural communication and TESOL.
Dr Chavalin Svetanant teaches Japanese at Macquarie University. Her research interest is in the intersection of language and culture, working in area of media and communication studies in comparative cultural contexts.
