Teams Chart - Call & Response
Tapping the Vowel Team chart helps children to learn all of these letter-sound combinations which are essential for speedy and accurate reading. Tapping moves the information to long-term memory over time giving the child as many repetitions as they need (which can be up to 200). It only takes a few minutes a day and even older children who read well but struggle with spelling benefit from this chart tapping. After the child taps the TEAMS Chart call & response for a week or more and the child seems to have all of the correct sounds, go the video TEAMS CHART- All Together. That step lets them practice with going straight through on their own. After they can do that with ease and want another challenge, tap the chart from the bottom to the top (out of order). To get more ideas about how to make chart tapping more challenging watch this video https://youtu.be/1HWHQhB6H5s Children also need to tap the other letter-sound combinations.
