Julie Brown, Senior Study Director and Director, RAND Survey Research Group, provided an overview of the CAHPS survey development process and how capturing the patient and family voices in healthcare quality measurement is included in this process. Susan Perez, Ph.D., M.P.H., Professor, Public Health, Sacramento State University, provided insight into the patient and community engagement perspective and how to hear the patient’s voice.
