The ONLY back lever tutorial you'll need
Hey Guys! In this video, I’m breaking down one of my favourite movements of all time: the Back Lever. It’s raw. It’s primal. And it demands full-body control. You can’t fake this one—no momentum, no shortcuts. Just strength, tension, and focus. I’m doing it on gymnastics rings, which I personally prefer over a bar. Why? Because rings are versatile—you can throw them in your backpack, find a tree, and train outdoors in nature. And they move with your body, rather than locking you into a fixed position like a bar does. That extra instability makes you earn every inch of control. That said—everything I show here still applies if you’re using a pull-up bar. The method works. The philosophy remains. I’ll show you a bunch of progressions, tips, and creative ways to approach the back lever, but I’m not into strict, robotic routines. I believe in experimenting, being playful, and listening to your body. In my experience, that’s where real breakthroughs happen. ⸻ If you found this helpful, hit like, subscribe, and join the Dan Gordon Movement community. 📱 Follow me on Instagram + TikTok: [@dangordonmovement] 🌍 Become a member for deeper training, content, and connection.
