The Pattern Drawing Test, one of the five subtests in the Bhatia Battery of Performance Tests
a non-verbal intelligence test developed by Dr. C.M. Bhatia for the Indian population.
This test assesses visual-motor coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to perceive and replicate patterns.
The procedure is simple: the person is shown a geometric design and asked to copy it freehand onto a blank sheet no ruler, no erasing, just careful observation and drawing.
It’s especially useful for individuals with limited verbal or academic skills, as it measures intelligence through performance rather than language.
In short, the Pattern Drawing Test is a quick yet effective tool to evaluate non-verbal cognitive abilities.
