The Roll Up (but I start with the Roll Down) is the second exercise in the classical Pilates repertoire. It's all about spinal articulation and sequencing, with a lovely bit of ab work to go along with that.
If you have bone loss, please stay with the first modification. You'll still get lots of work, I promise!
If you have diastasis recti, stay with the first modification, or whichever of the other variations you can do without doming or separation in your abs. Strong, controlled and sustainable is better than going for the range at the cost of your abdominal integrity!
