This poem is about the small things in life. Wanting a deeper connection with things around you that usually go unnoticed.
The Simple Things:
I want to become better
At noticing simple things
That I always walked past
I want to catch a glimpse
Get to know the flowers
So I can greet them on my walk
An oxeye daisy
That listens when I talk
A duck swimming by
Not caring that I watch
I want to get to know the geese
Rippling through my thoughts
Most importantly
I want to understand nature
To get to know myself
To stop being a stranger
