The Undertaking

One year ago, we began a journey to tell a quiet, powerful story from the heart of Carlow, for Culture Night 2025. The Undertaking is a short documentary that follows undertaker Rory Healy, and the remarkable story of Mary Regan — a woman with no known next of kin, whose funeral became an extraordinary moment of community, compassion, and connection. Today, we are proud to share that “The Undertaking” is now available for public viewing. This film is, above all, a tribute to Mary Regan. In her passing, she brought a community together — a powerful reminder of dignity, humanity, and the unseen threads that connect us all.
