The Uninvited

Behind the closed doors I hear footsteps that belong to no one. The light fades out, the house falls still, and the shadow spills like blood upon the walls. Someone stands in the mirror, but it is not me. Their eyes are empty, lips – sealed for eternity. Is it my reflection, or something that came from another world to take me away? Is this a dream, or is it reality? Someone knocks, though the doors are open. Words are arranging themselves into sentences, that no one will ever understand. Is it a warning, or is it a curse? I ask the darkness, but it keeps silent. On the table lies a letter no one wrote. The ink flows on its own, tracing signs of evil.
