There be ducks!

It has taken years to get ducks back to this area. This used to be a little stream area until houses took over and water no longer flows. My son bought the adjacent property several years ago and we had the invasive blackberries removed. Every winter the old stream bed fills with water that has no where to go. Ex-neighbors threw all sorts of trash into the property killing off frogs etc. The overgrowth of blackberries prevented deer, ducks and other wildlife from using what used to be 'Their Place" It took years for my son to acquire this "useless piece of property", that only fills with water in the rainy season. Useless to anyone but us! The first thing mw son did was buy two hardscape pond liners and I set about the task of reclaiming the land and providing a year round water source for the wildlife...in hopes they would return! The natural rainwater disappears into the ground by June, so there had to be another source. It has been hard work but wildlife has returned, natural plants have been planted but I am still waiting for the frogs! This year I started cleaning out more debris and I will continue my efforts until I can no longer do it. Age is a factor, as is arthritis but I am striving for frogs!
