Tower Rescue Demonstration.

A demonstration of one common technique used in tower safety rescue training. This method uses a rope access device such as a Petzl I'D, D5 Descender, DBI No Worries. We also employ the use of a 5:1 mechanical advantage device to aid the rescuer in removing the victim from his PFAS(Personal Fall Arrest System)after a fall. This training is vital to tower climbers as we are nearly always the first responders to a fall while on a tower structure. It is also vital as many EMS responders are not trained in tower rescue and prolonged suspension within a climbers harness can be more deadly than the fall itself from a condition called orthostatic intolerance. We train all of our climbers to be sure they are able to perform a rescue if the unfortunate event occurred. The second part is a demonstration of a controlled descent using the DBI No Worries. It is a great tool and I really enjoy how it functions.
