The easiest way to identify a certain tooth in your patient's mouth is by using the modified Triadan numbering system. But, with so many species in veterinary medicine and each of those species having a unique dental formula, how do we know which tooth gets which number? Kendra goes over how the numbering system works within the mouth and how each quadrant is identified. Then we break it down into how each tooth within the arcade is numbered using a canine model. Once we have the numbering system down Kendra demonstrates how the rules of 4 & 9, in conjunction with the correct dental formula, will help you to assign the correct number to the correct tooth in species that may naturally have fewer teeth in certain areas. The video ends with setting up a feline dental chart with the correct numbers by using our rules of 4 & 9 and our dental formula.
