BIBLE REFERENCES 📖⬇️ Repentance has come to be synonymous with guilt and shame, which is why many people don't like the word. Repent means to turn back to God. "In returning and rest you shall be saved." Isaiah 30:15. When we turn back to Him we are admitting we have gone astray from following His ways, just like Adam and Eve did. We are acknowledging that we are rebels and that we cannot trust our own judgement, nor can we change ourselves. King David's psalm of repentance (Psalm 51), shows us that if we admit our wrong doing and turn back to Him with a contrite heart, no matter what we've done, God is faithful to forgive us. If we don't turn back we will never change, because accepting your wrong doing is the first step in meaningful change. If you want your life to transform then you need to admit your part in messing it up in the first place and surrender to God's perfect will for your life.
