Ultrasonic testing (UT) is a non-destructive method of inspecting welds by sending high-frequency sound waves through a material using pulse echo technique. UT can detect internal flaws, such as cracks, porosity, lack of fusion, laminations and inclusions, as well as measure the thickness of the base materials.
