Meet SignScribe, the team that received the 2024 “Best Team Award” for their innovative robotic hand, which can process live speech and output the equivalent spelling in American Sign Language (ASL). They created a portable sign language interpreter with a simple setup that allows the hearing impaired to participate in discussion spaces and conferences, attend speeches, and share their perspectives. It can also be used as a teaching tool for ASL. Team Members: Allison Andreyev (Project Leader & Software Engineer) Sakib Niaz (Hardware & GUI Engineer) Yenni Do (Software & CAD Prototyping Engineer) Elliott Owens (Computer Engineer) Explore SignScribe's exciting journey to the UMD CPSE Demo Day 2024 at USG, a highlight of the "Jumpstart Your Engineering Career" summer program. 🔔 Subscribe for more innovative projects and behind-the-scenes footage from the Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering (CPSE) program! _____________________________________________________ Documentary Credit: Georgi Tsvetanski – Videographer & Editor Brian Schoem – Media Producer Seble Solomon – Digital Media Contributor
