No one gave him anything, not because they didn't have, but because God wasn't going to allow anyone Lord over the young man.
There comes a time in your life that you genuinely just want to have it your way, not as a matter of rebellion or revolution, but the fleshy desires of being human just comes in, clothed in the finest robe. You go for it, regardless of the cost or the price you have to pay.
