In this tutorial I will show you two different methods on how to light up your character in a dark environment, so they are always visible to the player.
The first method uses a light component, whereas the second method will change some material properties. They’re cross-compatible, too!

I was inspired while playing through FromSoftware games, noticing I was never able to hide my own character in the darkness because of a small amount of light, and decided to recreate it.
One simple way to learn Unreal Engine, and gamedev in general, is to find small things in your favourite games, and try your best at recreating them!
